Long-COVID syndrome is a condition that will affect a large proportion of those who survived a COVID-19 infection. According to a recent meta-analysis, it is associated predominantly with poor quality of life, persistent symptoms including fatigue, dyspnea, anosmia, sleep disturbances, and mental health problems.

At present, we are still struggling to understand the exact causes and mechanisms of this condition. Therefore, its optimal treatment is as yet uncertain. Governments around the world have therefore made sizable research funds available to make progress in this area, and research in this area is frantically active.

Regardless of the evidence, practitioners and entrepreneurs of so-called alternative medicine (SCAM) are gearing up to jump on this bandwagon by declaring that their offerings are a solution to this growing problem. Indeed, many of them have already done so. Here are just three sites that I found today which are promoting homeopathy for long COVID:

One hardly needs to mention that homeopathy is not supported by sound evidence in the management of long-Covid (or any other condition for that matter). Neither does one need to stress that homeopaths are just one example, and virtually all other SCAM providers are promoting their services in the absence of evidence.

A recent review of the literature stated this:

Patients with long COVID commonly refer to taking ‘the stack’ or ‘the supplement stack’, which includes high-dose vitamin C and D, niacin (nicotinic acid), quercetin, zinc, selenium, and sometimes also magnesium. Further research is needed to confirm or refute the impact of supplements in long COVID. Examples of noteworthy interactions with supplements include: niacin causing an increased risk of bleeding events when combined with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, increased risk of rhabdomyolysis together with statins, and quercetin causing inhibition and induction of various human cytochrome P450 enzymes.

Why then are SCAM providers promoting SCAM for long-COVID?

This is a daft question if there ever was one.

It seems obvious they do it because:

• they are believers who don’t care about evidence,
• they are in it for the money,
• or both.

Some time ago, this homeopath already indicated, that SCAM providers should see COVID as an opportunity: For homeopathy, shunned during its 200 years of existence by conventional medicine, this outbreak is a key opportunity to show potentially the contribution it can make in treating COVID-19 patients. We should perhaps not hold our breath to see the emergence of convincing evidence, but we should be prepared to warn the public of getting exploited by charlatans who disregard both ethics and evidence.

40 Responses to Homeopathy and other SCAMs for long-COVID: WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE?

• Dear Edzard,
my homeopathic ego, at least as big as yours, is deeply disappointed not to have been named in the listing of “significant” links to homeopathic help for Covid 19, Longcovid and vaccine side effects [joke off].

https://homoeopathiewirkt.wordpress.com/2021/05/22/covid-19-update-22-5-21-further-findings-on-homeopathic-help-with-vaccination-side-effects-and-with-the-so-called-longcovid-or-postcovid-syndrome/

As mentioned several times in your blog, we do not have any better evidence than university medicine (or vice versa), but we at least offer patients help where conventional medicine (SCSM=so called scientific medicin) completely breaks the sails and neither in prophylaxis nor in the pre-acute stage or in the follow-up treatment has something to offer .
Or are you suggesting that consistent non-treatment is better than trying?
In this context, your list of side effects of SCAM drugs only looks ridiculous in view of the possible side effects of SCSM …
And with your limited perspective you probably cannot imagine that there could be other impulses for action beyond “they are in it for the money”: concern and compassion for your own patients.

• good to hear from you, Heinrich!
If you had read the paper that I linked to, you would have seen detailed “Recommendations for the recognition, diagnosis, and management of long COVID”.
Your notion that real doctors do nothing is merely the fantasy of homeopaths.
And compassion does not just mean being kind to your patients but treating them as effectively as possible – and that, my friend, means avoiding homeopathics and other placebos.

• @Hümmer: How wonderful to go through life with never a doubt or regret in the world. The thought “But what if I’m wrong?” must be as alien to you as the “Law of Infinitesimals” is to dose-response curves and Avogadro. And, hey; what are a few extra corpses in service to your ego…?

• I had assessed you with more integrity, but you obviously find it difficult in your conventional-medical-neglect to admit that there are SCAM therapists with a conscience and sovereignty to adhere to there limits. In my opinion, with the helplessness and “doing nothing” of the SCSM at Covid 19 (except ICU!), more deaths are accepted than necessary ….
It was precisely the constant questioning of the usefulness and success of any therapeutic application from SCSM during my studies and in the hospital that brought me to the realization of where I am now.

• @Hummer:

there are SCAM therapists with a conscience and sovereignty to adhere to there limits

To adhere to your limits you would first have to be aware of them. Which you are not. Never mind understand why they are there.

the helplessness and “doing nothing” of the SCSM at Covid 19

So CM should have done something, anything, just to make itself feel useful? You really need to learn the difference between being busy and being productive.

Galenic Medicine spent 2000 years “doing something”; and how many of their patients did their “something” heal, and how many did it kill? (You can even start answering that one yourself: homeopathy, which is the very definition of appearing to do something while doing nothing, proved significantly superior to the conventional care of the day: bloodletting and purging. It’s not our fault Hahnemann misinterpreted his results.)

Doing something that is overwhelmingly harmful is far worse than doing nothing at all. Voltaire declared then that “The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.” Though what he should have said was “The art of medicine should consist of distracting the physician so he doesn’t kill the patient too.” Because the physicians of Voltaire’s day were fools. Respected, wealthy, and all too dangerous fools. 200 years of grindingly hard unforgiving learning (including learning how to say “I am wrong”) have since gone a long way to moderating the fools, though as we see here they are are still around.

By the way, your declaration that modern medics were “helpless” and “doing nothing” as COVID ran rampant is shockingly offensive. They did all they could while constantly learning from both experience and research how to combat this brand new disease effectively. And over time, they got very good at it too; which is one of the reasons the case to death ratio is now greatly improved. After two years in that war zone, all those medics deserve far better than to be wiped with your feces by you. For someone who tells us he has a conscience, you aren’t doing a good job of using it. Shame on you.

It was precisely the constant questioning of the usefulness and success of any therapeutic application from SCSM during my studies and in the hospital that brought me to the realization of where I am now.

No, it was your (understandable) frustration at “Medicine Hard” (but what practitioner doesn’t know that), combined with your cloying need to feel somehow Special despite the difficulties harsh reality had foisted on you. But lots of medics question medicine and how it they see it practised; and some of those learn and find small ways to improve it. A very few even find world-changing ways (Nightingale, Morton, Halstead, Florey, Barnard) and are rightly lauded for their remarkable contributions (and also criticised where rightly due), but they are the exception.

You are not the exception. You are the well-meaning incompetent, puffed up on his own ego, tipsy on vanity, a medical Mary Sue; placing his own wants before his patients’ interests, because his beliefs tell him to.

Richard Feynman once observed of hypotheses: “It does not make any difference how beautiful your guess is, it does not make any difference how smart you are, who made the guess, or what his name is — if it disagrees with experiment, it is wrong.”

But your experiments will never prove your hypothesis wrong, because they cannot: you can never allow it. To disprove homeopathy, first to yourself and then to others, would be a horrendously destructive blow; not just to your ego, but your personal and professional relationships and status, and (in quite a few cases, including yours) your bank accounts too. Therefore you seek only to confirm it. But that is not science, that is Religion. And you are its indulgent cowardly fool.

Do you think I’m being cruel, Heinrich Hümmer? Taking you apart like this and holding up all your parts to the world? Trust me, this is nothing compared to the vivisection I’ve done on myself, and continue to do. Consider it a gift of some high-cost insight, from one highly practised self-deceiver to another. And if you will not accept it in order to save yourself, you should do so to save those you come into contact with, from you.

“With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil – that takes religion.” – Steven Weinberg

• “You are the well-meaning incompetent, puffed up on his own ego, tipsy on vanity, a medical Mary Sue; placing his own wants before his patients’ interests, because his beliefs tell him to.”
Ad hominem below your dignity.

“Consider it a gift of some high-cost insight, from one highly practised self-deceiver to another.”
I do that because I recognize in you the SAME (self) critical spirit as it is in me. But should I simply deny myself the thousands of experiences far beyond a possible placebo effect? … e.g. a non-Hdgkin lymphoma that begins to regress THE DAY AFTER the start of therapy, disappears completely and has been in remission for 3 years?
(By the way: How do I make quotes look like it?]

• ” a non-Hodgkin lymphoma that begins to regress THE DAY AFTER the start of therapy, disappears completely and has been in remission for 3 years”
as you seem to like this sooooooooooooo much, I am sure you can also tell us how often this alleged effect has been reproduced.
PLEASE ENLIGHTEN US

• That is not an ad hominem†. An ad hominem would be:

“You are wrong [about homeopathy] because you are a well-meaning incompetent, puffed up on his own ego, tipsy on vanity, a medical Mary Sue; placing his own wants before his patients’ interests, because his beliefs tell him to.”

Whereas I say:

“You are wrong and the reason you cannot accept you are wrong is because you are a well-meaning incompetent, puffed up on his own ego, tipsy on vanity, a medical Mary Sue; placing his own wants before his patients’ interests, because his beliefs tell him to.”

Exploring why homeopathy is wrong and exploring why you personally refuse to reject it are two separate tasks. I can do one, I can do the other, I can do both. My choice of sports.

I have on other days ripped into homeopathy, exercising my very lay understanding of physics and [bio]chemistry to point out where it flat-out contradicts all known science and reality itself, and my general understanding of the standard of homeopathic “research” to infer why this bothers its peddlers not one whit. And others far better educated, credentialed, and published frequently do so too. I feel no great need to retread (yet again) that material here, so I simply assert “You are wrong” and proceed directly to the tasty stuff.

Whereupon I rip specifically into you, putting my Junior Internet Degree in Armchair Psychopathology‡ to work. Because it has not escaped my notice that no matter how robust the arguments we put forward are, nor how clearly and patiently and accessibly explained, you simply weave around them as if they were ghosts. And you and your fellows’ endless churn of sophistry, cargo-cult theatrics, and courtiers’ reply speaks volumes about not only the vacuity that is homeopathy itself but also the sucking black hole that is the intellectual and ethical integrity of you.

So even as you tell us you’re a very learned critical thinker, I admit myself utterly unable to explain how you could survive either medical school or debate club with only that puffy white air-filled blamanche of [alleged!] neural tissue to run you. So perhaps after all you are right: Nothing really does do Something too!

(That is not an ad hominem either. That is an insult, and well earned.)

† Incidentally, accusing their critics of Ad Hominem is a common reflexive response of Alties after being accused of Ad Hominem first. That is a Tu Quoque, if anyone’s curious.

‡ For those of you tuning in from Google U: that one’s called humor. But as owner of a fairly pathological personality myself I admit a casually morbid fascination in what makes others go wrong too.

• as you seem to like this sooooooooooooo much, I am sure you can also tell us how often this alleged effect has been reproduced

Sadly I suspect Herr Hümmer is so besotted by his first Come To God story, it has not yet occurred to him to look for a second one.

“Body of Evidence…whassat???”

However, never let it be said I am a complete douche. It’s:

[sagacity goes here]

You’re welcome.

• @Heinrich

You know what? Your story with the non-Hodgkin lymphoma is not only a dead horse. The carcass is already completely rotten, even though you’ve been digging it up again and again and trying to revive it for years.

Adjuvant homeopathic therapy for conventionally treated breast cancer

A reduction in the number of circulating epithelial cells could be shown in response to homeopathic therapy, preceding or accompanying conventional adjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer. Using the objective enumeration of epithelial cells in blood which according to a recently published study has been shown to be correlated with prognosis gives us for the first time the possibility to prove an immanent antitumoral influence of homeopathic therapy.

• So let us be clear.

I have NO scientific qualifications. I crashed and burned out of 1st-year vet pre-med in an impressive trail of wreckage. I do not recall anything of high school-level math or science, being over 30 years ago. My head is so wrecked, I’m lucky to think straight for even an hour. At most, I read a handful of popsci books in a year. Sometimes I might even understand them, although I cannot for my life recall the details after. And while I finally mastered Feynman’s famous dictum, I did so only first by going the absolute hardest way around.

That is what I bring to the discussion.

Now let’s look at what you bring:

• A Powerpoint.

• A “case control study” with 5 patients and no control.

• A medical education clearly not worth piss any more.

• A monstrously inflated ego.

My brain has been doing its absolute damndest to kill me all my adult life. That’s my excuse. So WTF is yours?

Because I am at a loss.

• @Heinrich Hümmer
I shall no longer be addressing you as ‘Dr.’, because I do not think that you are worthy of the title. The things you do and say are hurting and possibly even killing people, not helping them.
The claims on your linked page that vaccines cause far more and more serious side effects than official reports show are absolutely untrue, and not supported by data from any country in the world. You are brainlessly regurgitating the foul crap from ‘America’s Frontline Doctors’, an extreme right-wing political (NOT medical) organisation that is opposed to any measures to curb the Covid-19 pandemic, and basically proposes to let as many people as possible contract the disease – with devastating consequences, should they have it their way. To this effect, they are spreading lies, misinformation and panic about Covid-19 vaccinations, and promote proven ineffective drugs such as hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin. Unfortunately and inevitably, there will be people out there who fall for these lies, and decide to forego vaccination based on this – and up to one in every hundred of them will die after contracting Covid-19. Because they believed these lies – the same lies that you help spread.

Of course the rest of your Web page is also untrue, starting with the title: no, homeopathy does not work – when asked on multiple previous occasions, you failed to provide any convincing scientific evidence. Nothing new there.
And no, vaccines do not cause long-term side effects, and homeopathy cannot help people overcome these fictitious side effects. These are of course old lies, spread by homeopaths in order to sell people their fairy-tale sugar crumbs. And of course you can’t actually help people with long-Covid either, other than listen to their plight and feign compassion, while relieving them of their money. (Although the latter may have some effect – people are inclined to be positive about something if they just spent substantial amounts of money on it. So at least you may be making people feel better – but for all the wrong reasons.)

I am sorry that my message is not more positive, but you are really doing a lot of things wrong.

• +100

Oh, and never mind America’s Frontline Quacks; Hümmer’s linked post has an entire section fêting Jeremy freaking Sherr, an outstandingly vile predator of poor and desperate African HIV/AIDS victims. And then has the gall to to say that I lack integrity!

You could not make this stuff up. Nor the trail of corpses behind it.

The only question I have left is why Hümmer hasn’t been struck off by now? Though if German medical boards are anything like their UK and US cousins I’ll wager it’s because they care more about protecting the image of the profession than patients from their members. It absolutely is disgraceful.

• And to neutralize any polemical “ad homeopathum” comments of you as irrelevant from the outset: I myself am vaccinated twice and just recovered from “breakthrough disease” and am glad, I had the vaccinations.
But sorry for you:
Time will tell you another truth, even if you bark and bite about yourself.
And:
Discriminating against a group of (doctors) as “right-wingers” just for exposing inconvenient truths is old cheese and beneath your dignity

• @Heinrich Hümmer

I myself am vaccinated twice and just recovered from “breakthrough disease” and am glad, I had the vaccinations.

Good. But …

Discriminating against a group of (doctors) as “right-wingers” just for exposing inconvenient truths is old cheese and beneath your dignity.

You are an ignorant person if you really believe this. Those people are NOT doctors. They are dangerous quacks – because they spread lies and misinformation, NOT ‘inconvenient truths’ as you claim. Their claims are generally unproven, highly misleading and sometimes outright lies and fabrications, bordering on the criminal.
E.g. they claim that Covid-vaccinations have killed 45,000 people in the US alone, and they say that they base this on VAERS reports (VAERS is the US version of the German Paul Ehrlich Institute). This IS A LIE.
They also claim that young people should shun Covid-19 vaccination because this would present an increased risk of myocarditis, and that for these age groups, the risks of vaccination are significantly greater than the risks associated with Covid-19. This IS ALSO A LIE:
“Young males infected with the virus are up 6 times more likely to develop myocarditis as those who have received the vaccine.”
On another occasion, one of these quack people tried to dissuade young women from getting vaccinated, claiming that Covid-19 vaccination caused infertility and miscarriages. This IS ANOTHER LIE. And unfortunately, there are many more such lies spread by ‘America’s Frontline Doctors’, e.g. about hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin being effective medicines for Covid-19. And why do they do this? The answer is simple: for the money.
Luckily, their activities have not completely escaped lawmakers’ attention: https://www.medpagetoday.com/special-reports/exclusives/95408
So there is a real chance that these ‘Frontline Doctors’ will face repercussions, and state medical boards are also warning that doctors who spread this misinformation and/or sell unapproved drugs may face disciplinary steps, including revoking their medical licenses.

My remaining question is: why do you help spread egregious lies like this? How can you reconcile your support for these horrible people with your statement that you think vaccines are a good thing? You are obviously very wrong if you think that these people ‘tell inconvenient truths’ – they are liars. Is it because these people say things that you want to hear?
I find it very difficult to remain respectful in the face of this sort of almost criminal misinformation – misinformation that no doubt has killed many thousands of people already, by scaring them away from vaccines and proper medical help, and into the arms of quacks and grifters. Many of them only realized how wrong they were when they ended up in the ICU, needlessly dying because they listened to the wrong people.

• Those people are NOT doctors.

Technically they are, with the paperwork to prove it. What they are NOT are healers.

Alties love to hoot about the Hippocractic Oath. But it’s just another prop in their hypocritical Grand Act.

“Last scene of all,
That ends this strange eventful history,
Is second childishness and mere oblivion;
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.”

• why do you help spread egregious lies like this? … Is it because these people say things that you want to hear?

It has been my personal observation over the years that Alties care for narratives, not evidence. Accounts in which they cast themselves as the hounded heroes relentlessly persecuted by vast malignant—even openly murderous—forces go down a storm in their more incestuous insulated circles. To those psychologically jonesing, I can picture it a delightful drug. Easy for us to laugh at the on-its-face ridiculousness, but—just ask any former cult member.

At risk of drifting too OT, this might also be pertinent: DARVO

Short for “Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender”, it’s a misdirection and propaganda tactic popularly employed by abusers. Not unusual to see the more manipulative Alties include it in their arsenal. (Ocean gave us a mild demonstration down-thread: the proud public reveal of his tactical troll.) Herr Hümmer might wish to muse on its warning signs while he plans his next debating strategy faceplant.

• @Richard Rasker

My remaining question is: why do you help spread egregious lies like this?

Well, from now on I consider Heinrich Hümmer as the homeopathic version of Wolfgang Wodarg or Bodo Schiffmann. Two German physicians who have been spreading falsehoods about COVID-19 for the last two years.

• Discriminating against a group of (doctors) as “right-wingers” just for exposing inconvenient truths

You dismal dolt.

They aren’t being discriminated for being right-wingers, they’re being discriminated against for being lying grifters whose lies and grift are MAKING PEOPLE DEAD.

USA: 50 MILLION cases in a pop of 330M; 800K dead. Germany: a quarter of the population, yet a TENTH of the cases and an EIGHTH of the deaths.

As rotten as you are as a doctor, these quacks are worse. But, Profit and Glory. You both know about that.

That there also happens now in the US to be a strong correlation between “right-wing” and “abusers and frauds” only tells us how shockingly debased the US Right has slowly grown over the 60 years since Goldwater and Nixon sold out principles and Lincoln for white-bigot votes. A malignant tumor spreading across the body of democracy, gleefully fed both by home-grown theocrats and oligarchs and foreign governments already gone full-fascist.

And what do you do in the face of this? You minimize it: “bUt BoTh SiDeS!” Why am I not surprised. At all.

By the way, we can still remember what the last lot of “Good Germans” got up to—and they didn’t even have nukes. This new bunch is still warming up. Honestly, our best hope might be if they do succeed in killing themselves chugging all of the sheep drench and industrial bleach sold by these quacks, before they think about going full-on End Times murder-suicide pact and take down the rest of us as well.

Read through Steve Kirsch’s paper and see if you still believe “The claims … that vaccines cause far more and more serious side effects than official reports show are absolutely untrue, and not supported by data from any country in the world.” and “vaccines do not cause long-term side effects”

• @Roger
Steve Kirsch is an entrepreneur who suffers from the delusion that he is now also an epidemiologist, immunologist, virologist and knowledgeable scientist – which makes him a patent idiot.

No, there is no evidence AT ALL that Covid-19 vaccines cause significantly more and more serious side effects than generally reported. In fact, Dutch allergy and immunology experts found that the vast majority of reported allergic reactions following the first vaccination were not caused by allergy at all, but by stress and anxiety. Which is not all that strange, because both allergies and anxiety can cause an increased heart rate, a globus sensation (lump in the throat), flushed skin and a general ‘itchiness’.

People who experienced these symptoms after their first vaccination were routinely advised not to take a second vaccination, just to be on the safe side. However, after several thousand of these people voluntarily applied for a second vaccination anyway, it turned out that the vast majority were not allergic after all. This was established using standard allergy tests and by subsequent vaccination.

So it would appear that the number of side effects is actually overestimated rather than underestimated.

• Steve Kirsch has been comprehensively debunked.

Seriously, anyone can hypothesize a bunch of numbers. What matters is whether you actually verify them against observed reality before you pronounce your conclusion.

Kirsch didn’t. He invented numbers which said exactly what he wanted them to say, then shouted them directly to the world. Thereby forcing others to check his homework for him. And when they found nothing but fabulist fever dream in the place where high evidence should have been, they were rightly pissed in calling him out for it.

So I can see why you find it compelling. But then, I’ve met clods of earth more self-aware than you.

• 🙈 🙉 🙊
Steve Kirsch is the 🧑‍🔧 inventor of the computer mouse 👍 but has no expertise in the field of biomedicine.
Since April 2020 he is a promoter of misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines.

🙈 No joke 👊
He really wants to cure an infection with an antidepressant!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Kirsch

Did the inventor of the computer mouse 🐭 become a pied 🐀 piper?

• I suppose you have at hand the “sound evidence” that cures COVID with conventional drugs. Or the “sound evidence” of newer RNA vaccines that prevent the spread of COVID, not merely that it “prevents complications.” I hope you can share those Cochrane systematic reviews and metaanalysis, Ernst. But they should be independent reviews with trials evaluated without any conflict of interest.

• EE
You’re a bully !

You allow posters on your side of the fence to go off topic constantly.
You should call yourself Mr. Double Standard.

• @Ruthy: “You allow posters on your side of the fence to go off topic constantly.”

“Constantly”, you say? [citation needed], we say.

And hey, so what if we skeptic commenters do take an occasional break from dilligently dismantling endless crappy Altie arguments to have a little fun? I have zero doubt that should we get carried way and drown out productive conversations, our gracious host will tell us to knock it off too.

The key difference between us skeptics and a commenter such as Ocean is that the latter has contributed NOT ONE productive discussion in any of the previous threads, only great quantities of smoke and mirrors to disguise his total lack of content. So Prof Ernst’s tolerance for Ocean’s trollish behavior has already reached its local minima, and this being Prof Ernst’s house he has NO obligation to allow such behavior any longer than he wishes to. In fact, he is remarkably accommodating: all he has done here is shut down Ocean’s attempt to threadjack. As any good moderator would do.

Furthermore I can absolutely guarantee you that if any of us was to visit a full-blooded Altie forum such as AoA or NatNews, even a 100% valid, on-topic, honest, and scientifically-correct comment from us would be jumped on with a torrent of vile abuse and/or deleted and its author instabanned by the moderators within an hour (and likely in 5 minutes flat; they do not hang about in protecting their echo chambers). So if you really want to talk about “double standards” then let’s talk about of all your houses and their fabulously thin and fragile sugar glass.

Oh, and please be aware that additional displays of faux outrage will only reveal you as another bad-faith commenter; and then you’kk join Ocean on the “nasty little troll” list and be treated accordingly. It is (as you all demand) your choice.

• my experience with most pro-SCAM blogs is that they do not even post my comments. thus, a long time ago, I stopped commenting there.

• I think there’s a lot of anecdotal evidence that you are not alone.

Odd how Alties never seem to care about those anecdotes.

Although, why would they need to? Having destroyed all evidence themselves.

• Yes, EE is a bully, he did not publish my last comments.

• or perhaps your intellectual abilities are too limited to notice the multiple warnings I gave you or even to read what the RULES say about posting on my blog:
Twelve simple rules must be observed when commenting on my blog.

All posts should be in understandable English; with rare exceptions, I will not post comments that I find incomprehensible.
Libelous statements will not be posted.
Personal insults will not be posted and trolls will be banned.
People who keep insulting others will be banned.
Comments must be on-topic.
Nothing published here must be taken as medical advice.
All my statements are comments in a legal sense.
Conflicts of interest should always be disclosed.
I will stop discussions on any particular topic if I feel that enough has been said and things are getting boring or repetitive.
I will not post comments which are overtly nonsensical.
I will prevent commentators from monopolizing the discussion.
Please use the same name you’ve used before when commenting — it doesn’t have to be your real name, but it helps others who are trying to follow the discussions.

• Oooh look at the nasty bully.

Unclutch your pearls and stop playing the false victim you whining troll.

It’s Edzard’s blog, Bucko. You can write what you like but he doesn’t have to publish it. Now maybe if you’d come up with the convincing evidence of the efficacy of homeopathy rather than your typical asinine rambling he’d have allowed it to be posted. How about you go and find some?

We’ll wait.

• This is Edzard’s house. You, me, and everyone else are his guests.

So when you choose to pee on his rug, repeatedly, after being told to stop doing that, then do not pretend you are the victim here when he finally locks you out.

.

Did I mention DARVO? I think I mentioned DARVO.

Yup, I did.

• There are indeed many SCAM providers who are targeting Long COVID. They always seek to “fill the gap” where conventional evidence-based treatments are still under development. In the UK, osteopaths were amongst the quickest to recognise this “opportunity”: https://complementaryandalternative.wordpress.com/2021/04/06/uk-osteopaths-continue-to-operate-outside-a-reasonable-scope-of-practice-they-now-think-they-can-treat-long-covid/

• Wonderful, I received an invitation from
https://altundweise.de/
– responsible is a Head of a geriatric department in little franconia Town –
for a cheap Course á 120 € with the paraphysician D. Reilly.
(Incidentally, he had already invited David to Bad Steben in 2015.)

🤔 The author is the “excellent” UK specialist for Iscador, Homeopathy
https://yestolife.org.uk/provider/reilly-david-dr/

Really, no joke 😂

He offers the “COVIDWEL Course” and shows the the astonished listeners how to “activate our self-care as we navigate the storms of the pandemic”.

Does self-praise stink?
🤣”Dr Reilly is an inspirational health pioneer and innovator, whose leadership has set a new gold standard for health care.“
