As CORONAVIRUS-panicked consumers scramble to buy the last roll of toilet paper, the world is frantically looking for a remedy that is effective against viral infections. On Twitter, I was alerted to a homeopathic remedy (actually, it’s a ‘homotoxicological’ preparation; for more explanation, see here) that promises to do just that. Here is the advertisement in its full beauty:

The add which originates from Reckeweg Pakistan even offers an explanation how homeopathy works: It is all based more or less on the theory of the atomic bomb. The bomb gets its energy from the splitting of the nuclei (central cores) of uranium or plutonium atoms. The relationship between mass and energy put forth by the great mathematician Albert Einstein explains how the fission of heavy atoms can produce energy. Similarly, in homoeopathy the drug substances, that is small atoms, are split into even smaller atoms generating more and more energy.

Yes, almost!
If you believe that this is true or that any homeopathic product might work against any viral disease, then you are probably also amongst the crowd who stockpile toilet paper for a disease that does not cause diarhoea.

Not saying stockpile toilet paper, but COVID def causes diarrhea. Just had it and for the life of me could not figure out why i was having the runs and hadn’t eaten anything bad. Low and behold it was COVID. Come to find out we actually have more COVID receptors in our intestines than in our lungs. Go figure that.

I would have thought that super dilution like C60 or C100 would increase the power of the homeopathic product to cure just about anything.

I’m fascinated by this – 3 drops x 3 times per day x 3 days per month. Every month for 3 years.
This necessitates a ritual of belly button rubbing that must be of some considerable fascination to the infant and should no doubt, form the basis of habitualised behaviour, which, particularly at that age, cannot be anything other than formative of contact dependency. Poor little one, must be utterly heartbroken when the “treatment” ends. Someone should run some long term observations on these belly button babies to make sure that there psychosexual development is not being subverted into unhealthy adult fetishes!
It would be interesting to get your opinion on Chinese patent medicines. Not just any such, but those the FIP lists here https://www.fip.org/file/4428 (p22). Although I have a hunch for the outcome here 😉

No – but completely discounting something without substantiation signifies a narrow closed mind. Can you find proof that it doesn’t work? Exactly.

If you are talking about Covid-19, you might be interested to know that it frequently presents with non-respiratory symptoms, and gastrointestinal disease, including diarrhoea, is quite a common manifestation.
